Job description

Dave's Auto Repair is seeking an experienced and skilled Auto Mechanic with a specialization in Honda/Acura vehicles to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess at least 5 years of experience in the field, have their own set of professional tools, and demonstrate a strong understanding of diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining foreign cars, with a focus on Honda and Acura models.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues on Asian vehicles, utilizing advanced diagnostic tools and techniques. Snap on Zeus scan tool experience a benefit.
  • Perform routine maintenance and service on Honda and Acura vehicles, adhering to manufacturer recommendations and industry best practices.
  • Inspect vehicles for potential problems and recommend necessary repairs or maintenance to shop owner.
  • Communicate technical information to shop owner in a clear and concise manner, providing accurate details of diagnostic steps if requested.
  • Test-drive vehicles to ensure proper functioning and performance after repairs or maintenance.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to safety standards and OSHA guidelines.
  • Stay current on emerging automotive technologies, industry trends, and best practices, particularly related to Honda and Acura vehicles.
  • Collaborate with other technicians and shop owner to ensure efficient and effective service delivery, sharing knowledge and expertise in Honda and Acura systems.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an automotive technical training program preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as an auto mechanic, with a focus and interest in Honda and Acura vehicles.
  • ASE certification in relevant areas, such as A1-A8, L1, and/or X1 is a plus but not required
  • Extensive knowledge of Asian cars with emphasis on Honda and Acura vehicle systems, components, and repair procedures.
  • Proficient in using diagnostic tools and software, particularly those specific to Asian vehicles.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to providing exceptional customer service and maintaining high-quality workmanship.
  • Own a professional set of automotive tools and equipment for use on Asian vehicles.
