Summary:

Newton Nissan of Gallatin is seeking a motivated and customer-focused EXPERIENCED Automotive Sales Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will be goal-oriented, have an aptitude for sales, a passion for helping customers acquire the right vehicle for them, demonstrate excellent communication skills, and be self-driven to exceed dealership goals for customer satisfaction (CSI), unit volume, and financial growth.  As an Automotive Sales Associate, you will be responsible for prospecting, selling, assisting customers throughout the sales process (from initial inquiry to vehicle delivery), and following-up with customers to ensure a seamless and positive buying experience.

What You Will Do:

  • Assist and delight customers in finding a vehicle that meets their needs by listening and asking questions.
  • Conduct vehicle demonstrations, explain features and benefits, warranty, and service capabilities, to establish the foundation for customer loyalty.
  • Explain and guide customers through sales process and aid with completion of sales application.
  • Introduce customers to service department personnel to emphasize quality and efficiency of service repairs and maintenance available in the dealership’s service department.
  • Build and maintain solid relationships with customers and follow-up after the sale to ensure a positive buying experience and encourage repeat and referral business.
  • Stay up-to-date and maintain a thorough knowledge of incoming inventory, vehicle models, features, specifications, accessories and how they benefit customers, as well as understand industry trends and competitive environment to identify potential sales opportunities.
  • Prospect and generate leads through various methods - including networking, referrals, call backs, database mining, etc.
  • Utilize our customer relationship management (CRM) system to track customer interactions and maintain a database of potential and existing customers.
  • Negotiate and close sales deals to meet or exceed monthly sales goals.
  • Review and analyze actions at the end of each day, week, month, and year to determine how to better utilize time and plan more effectively.
  • Collaborate with the sales team and management to develop and implement strategies for increasing sales, including daily inspection of lot’s vehicles, ensuring vehicles are merchandised and priced correctly, and proactively reporting any problems to management.
  • Attend sales meetings and training offered by dealership and manufacturer.
  • Must follow all company safety policies and procedures, and immediately report any and all accidents to management.

What You Need:

  • High school degree or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a sales role required.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; in person and over-the-phone.
  • Positive attitude and good work ethic (accountable, adaptable, honest, trustworthy, committed, enthusiastic, energetic, persistent, diligent, outgoing, etc.).
  • Aptitude to handle and overcome objections while being persuasive, professional, and friendly.
  • Professional personal appearance.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and Saturdays.
  • Valid driver's license, automobile insurance, and clean driving record.
  • All applicants must be able to demonstrate ability to pass pre-employment testing to include a background check, MVR check, and drug screen.
