Job Description

We are seeking a highly technical Feature Systems - Software Systems Developer to lead the design, architecture, and development of next-generation vehicle features from concept through production. This role focuses on systems engineering, feature ownership, requirements development, and software implementation support rather than software testing or validation.

The ideal candidate will translate customer and business needs into system requirements, functional specifications, logical architectures, and software implementation requirements while collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and develop vehicle feature concepts, requirements, and system architectures.
  • Translate customer and business needs into detailed engineering and software requirements.
  • Create and maintain functional specifications, System Boundary Diagrams, and DFMEA documentation.
  • Support feature development through the complete product lifecycle from concept to production.
  • Collaborate with software, electrical, mechanical, and vehicle integration teams.
  • Develop verification plans and support system integration activities.
  • Drive technical decisions and resolve complex engineering issues across teams.
  • Apply Systems Engineering V-Model methodologies throughout development.
  • Support Functional Safety and Cybersecurity assessments (preferred).

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
  • 3+ years of Automotive Systems Engineering experience.
  • 3+ years of embedded software engineering experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Systems Engineering principles and the V-Model.
  • Experience writing engineering requirements, functional specifications, and implementation specifications.
  • Hands-on experience with DFMEA and System Boundary Diagrams.
  • Experience developing automotive features from concept through production.
  • Strong understanding of vehicle electrical systems, CAN communication, networking, wiring, and power distribution.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Master''s degree in a related engineering discipline.
  • 5+ years of Automotive Systems Engineering experience.
  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
  • Functional Safety and Cybersecurity assessment experience.
  • Electrical D&R experience.
  • Experience leading feature development and cross-functional engineering teams.
