Job description

Summary:

Plans and directs activities concerned with development, application, and maintenance of quality standards for industrial processes, materials, and products by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to the following:

  • Overall Quality Systems Management

  • Play a key role in APQP, PPAP, and launch activities

  • Work with others in solving production problems

  • Devise sampling procedures and design and develop forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality data

  • Works with operations personnel to ensure proper part inspection and final part quality

  • Records test data, applying statistical quality control procedures

  • Perform audits as required

  • Responsible for Implementation and oversight of ECP and similar activities

  • Perform Gauge Calibration, gauge repair, and gauge maintenance

  • Conduct product inspection to meet timing requirements such as in-process inspections, development studies, annual validation, and PPAP

  • Assist in APQP requirements with Customers and Suppliers

  • Support Customer in the event of nonconforming material escaping process

  • Ability to understand engineering drawings, GD&T, and associated engineering standards

  • Metric reporting

  • Lead implementation of VDA Compliance

  • Continuous Improvement

  • All other duties as assigned

  • N/A

Qualifications / Experience / Education:

  • Agree to our Employee Handbook

  • Pass pre-employment screening (e.g., drug test, background check)

  • Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers

  • Ability to run and program CMM (PCDMIS) preferred

  • VDA compliance knowledge preferred but not required

  • Familiar with automotive quality requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field preferred OR

  • Minimum Two plus years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Previous high-volume manufacturing experience preferred.
