As an Automotive Service Advisor, you will serve as the primary point of contact for customers requiring automotive service and repairs. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure excellent customer service by providing accurate vehicle assessments, recommending necessary repairs and maintenance, and managing customer expectations throughout the process. You will work closely with the service technicians and parts department to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of services. The ideal candidate should have a strong automotive background, exceptional communication skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner, understand their automotive service needs, and accurately record relevant details.
  • Perform thorough vehicle inspections and document findings to identify any necessary repairs or maintenance services.
  • Consult with customers to explain the inspection results, provide detailed estimates for repairs, and obtain necessary approvals.
  • Collaborate with service technicians to ensure a comprehensive understanding of repair requirements and facilitate smooth workflow.
  • Coordinate with the parts department to order necessary parts and ensure their timely availability for service appointments.
  • Provide accurate and transparent explanations of repairs, estimated completion times, and associated costs to customers.
  • Update customers on the status of their vehicles throughout the repair process, ensuring clear communication and managing expectations.
  • Maintain detailed records of customer interactions, service histories, and vehicle information to facilitate effective follow-up and future reference.
  • Upsell additional services and maintenance plans based on manufacturer recommendations and customer needs.
  • Handle customer complaints or concerns promptly and professionally, striving to resolve issues and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain a clean and organized service area, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment.
  • Stay up-to-date with automotive technology, industry trends, and manufacturer service bulletins to provide accurate information to customers.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional automotive training or certification is a plus.
  • Proven experience as an Automotive Service Advisor or in a similar customer service role within the automotive industry.
  • Strong knowledge of automotive systems, components, and maintenance practices.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain technical information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Outstanding customer service skills, with a friendly and professional demeanor.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Proficient computer skills with experience in automotive service software and databases.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and collaborate with service technicians and other departments.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
