The Global Automotive Technology team, located in Kennesaw, GA, is seeking an Automotive Technology Engineer. This role supports automotive materials and technology projects by combining materials engineering fundamentals, project execution, and datadriven analysis. The position plays a key role in organizing technical workstreams, integrating data across systems, and developing dashboards and insights that support decisionmaking for the Automotive R&D team.

Responsibilities
  • Support automotive materials and technology projects across product, process, and solutions domains, including alloys, light-weighting, process improvement, benchmarking, recycling, and sustainability initiatives.
  • Lead, coordinate, and manage multi-functional automotive projects, ensuring clear scope definition, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Integrate and curate data from multiple sources (e.g., lab systems, plant data, project trackers, dashboards) to support technology, quality, and performance insights.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards, scorecards, and analytical tools (e.g., Power BI, Excel, SharePoint) for the automotive R&D portfolio.
  • Perform data analysis and visualization to identify trends related to quality, performance, cost, and process variability.
  • Support organization and governance of automotive R&D portfolios, including project documentation and reporting for monthly, quarterly, and annual reviews.
  • Collaborate closely with R&D, Technical Development, Operations, and Commercial collaborators across regions with a “wintogether” mentality.
  • Prepare clear, executiveready summaries and presentations for leadership reviews.
Minimum qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science & Engineering, Metallurgy, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 0–3 years of engineering experience, including internships or coops in relevant areas
  • Strong analytical skills with handson experience using Excel, Data analysis, Visual Basic and Power BI tools.
  • Experience organizing technical data, performing basic statistical analysis, programming and communicating insights clearly.
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams and work effectively in a multi-functional, global environment.
Preferred qualifications
  • Experience in aluminum alloy development, testing, characterization, and benchmarking.
  • Exposure to automotive design and development, including forming, joining, quality, and costing / VIU concepts.
  • Experience with Power BI, SQL, Python, AI or similar data and analytics tools.
  • Project management experience (formal or informal), including tracking milestones and deliverables.
  • Familiarity with lab systems (LIMS), manufacturing data, and enterprise tools (e.g., Accolade, Salesforce, SharePoint).
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate data into actionable technical and business insights.
  • Interest in automotive technology trends, sustainability, and light-weighting.
  • Experience creating dashboards or reports used by technical or leadership teams.
