IAV is currently seeking a highly motivated Senior EDS Components Design Engineer (Electrical Distribution Systems) to join our team. In this role, you will lead the design and development of critical EDS components supporting next-generation electric pickup trucks and rugged SUVs.

Essential Responsibilities & Activities:
  • Responsible for the end-to-end design and development of EDS components, including shields, troughs, grommets, connectors, terminals, and power distribution components
  • Own component delivery from initial concept through virtual development, validation, and production launch.
  • Collaborate with Purchasing and Finance to define technical requirements and support sourcing and quoting activities.
  • Partner with internal module owners and suppliers to define, release, and integrate EDS components into vehicle platforms.
  • Develop and maintain a standardized library of EDS components aligned with global engineering teams
  • Perform and support virtual, physical, and field validation testing to ensure product performance and durability.
  • Ensure designs comply with all applicable safety standards and U.S. regulatory requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance system performance and customer experience.
  • Support manufacturing readiness, including input into production processes and facility design.
  • Manage supplier deliverables to meet cost, quality, and timing targets.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in wire harness and/or power distribution component design and release within the automotive industry.
  • Proven experience supporting full product development lifecycle (concept, design, validation, and launch).
  • Strong expertise in EDS component design (connectors, terminals, harness protection, and power distribution systems).
  • Solid problem-solving and engineering skills, with experience applying structured methods (e.g., Six Sigma).
  • Familiarity with CAE tools or hands-on experience with simulation and analysis.
  • Working knowledge of validation and testing processes for automotive components.
  • Ability to build strong relationships and collaborate effectively across cross-functional and global teams.
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong proficiency with verbal and written communication skills, analytical problem solving, and creativity.
  • Willingness to travel, as needed
