Job description

Job Title: Parts Counter Representative
Company: I-State Truck Center
Location: Rogers, Minnesota.
I-State Truck Center is looking for a Parts Counter Representative for our Rogers Minnesota location. We are looking for candidates that have any parts counter experience with a preference on heavy duty trucks or equipment. In this role you will source and purchase parts, manage parts inventory as well as pricing parts for our customers and technicians so familiarity with computer-based parts program is a plus.
Pay Range: $25-$35/hour DOE
Shift: Monday-Friday 9:30am-6:00pm
As a Parts Counter Representative, you will play a crucial role in assisting customers and technicians with their heavy-duty truck parts needs. You will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, identifying, and locating the correct parts, processing transactions accurately, and maintaining inventory levels. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a strong attention to detail, and a passion for delivering top-notch service to our valued customers.

Parts Counter Representative Duties:
  • Lookup, price, and purchase parts for on highway diesel trucks, Thomas bus, East trailers, and Carrier.
  • Fill requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distribute items to technicians.
  • Enter and pick customer orders from stock.
  • Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Utilize computerized inventory systems to locate parts and check availability.
  • Process parts orders accurately and efficiently, including invoicing and accepting payment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized parts counter and work area.
  • Assist with receiving and stocking parts shipments.
  • Conduct regular inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.

Parts Counter Representative Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a customer service or retail environment, preferably in automotive or heavy-duty equipment parts sales.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in using computerized inventory systems and basic computer applications.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects, as necessary.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work weekends or evenings, as needed.

Parts Counter Representative Qualities:
  • Experience working with automotive or heavy equipment parts and accessories.
  • Knowledge of heavy-duty truck and equipment systems and components.
  • Familiarity with automotive parts cataloging systems (e.g., Electronic Parts Catalog).
  • Prior experience using point-of-sale (POS) systems.
