Job description

We are seeking a dependable and motivated Automotive Technician to join our service team, welcoming both entry-level candidates and experienced technicians. This role involves performing vehicle inspections, routine maintenance, and repair services on passenger cars and light trucks while upholding the highest standards of quality, safety, and customer satisfaction. As part of a service team reporting to the service manager, the technician will utilize a range of automotive tools and diagnostic equipment to support efficient and accurate vehicle servicing.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine automotive services including oil and filter changes, tire rotations, and fluid checks
  • Conduct vehicle inspections and identify maintenance or repair needs
  • Perform brake inspections and basic brake services
  • Inspect and replace batteries, filters, wiper blades, lights, and other components as required
  • Complete multi-point vehicle inspections to assess overall condition
  • Diagnose vehicle issues using diagnostic scanners and manufacturer-specific tools
  • Perform repairs according to manufacturer specifications and company procedures
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
  • Accurately document work performed and communicate vehicle concerns to the service team
  • Complete assigned work efficiently while maintaining high quality standards
  • Continuously develop technical knowledge and automotive repair skills

Required Qualifications

  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
  • Ability to safely use automotive tools and equipment including hand tools, diagnostic scanners, and lifting equipment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced service environment
  • Physical ability to stand, bend, lift, and work around vehicles for extended periods

Preferred Qualifications

  • Automotive education, training, or hands-on mechanical experience (especially for entry-level technicians)
  • Previous automotive service or repair experience, particularly in dealership or professional repair settings
  • ASE certification or equivalent specialized training
  • Knowledge of automotive diagnostics, brake system repair, oil and filter changes, and tire rotations
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, safety compliance, and time management skills
