Responsibilities
  • Perform vehicle inspections, diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs according to manufacturer specifications and dealership standards.
  • Complete routine maintenance services, including oil changes, tire rotations, brake services, fluid exchanges, and multi-point inspections.
  • Repair and replace vehicle components such as engines, transmissions, suspension systems, steering systems, HVAC systems, and electrical systems.
  • Test-drive vehicles before and after repairs to verify concerns and confirm repair quality.
  • Accurately document repair recommendations, completed services, parts used, and labor time in the dealership management system.
  • Communicate effectively with Service Advisors regarding vehicle conditions, recommended repairs, and repair status updates.
  • Maintain productivity and efficiency standards while ensuring quality workmanship.
  • Follow all OSHA, manufacturer, dealership, and safety guidelines, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Properly use and maintain dealership equipment, tools, lifts, and diagnostic devices.
  • Stay current on manufacturer training, technical bulletins, and evolving automotive technologies.
  • Assist fellow technicians and collaborate with team members to support shop productivity and customer satisfaction.
  • Inspect vehicles for additional maintenance or repair needs and communicate findings through proper channels.
  • Ensure repairs are completed correctly the first time to minimize comebacks and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Adhere to attendance, scheduling, and performance expectations established by dealership management.

Qualifications
  • Previous automotive technician or automotive mechanic experience required.
  • ASE certifications preferred; manufacturer certifications are a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret repair orders, technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and service bulletins.
  • Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to provide and maintain tools appropriate to skill level and job responsibilities.
  • Basic computer proficiency and ability to utilize dealership software and diagnostic systems.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Ability to work in varying environmental conditions, including heat, cold, noise, and exposure to automotive chemicals and fumes.
  • Ability to safely operate manual and automatic transmission vehicles.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
