Job Responsibilities:
Full time - 40 hours per week - Fall term (September - December 2026)
Mission of the Position:
Supports the Gearbox and Mechatronics Engineering team with various tasks including but not limited to: Drawing/3D model creation, BOMs, calculations, analysis, requirements analysis, and process development.
Team Summary:
The GBX and Mechatronics Engineering team is responsible for the development of the gearbox mechanical sub-system for electrified powertrain products. This includes responsibility through the serial development project for the technical requirements, design, and virtual verification of the gearbox sub-system. Responsibilities also include ownership of the Engineering BOM for the complete product.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Support Mechanical System Engineers with product/component design development (calculations, drawing development, CAD, EBOM, DFMEAs, Change Management, product design summaries, etc.)
  • Support Mechanical System Engineers with requirements (writing/editing design requirements, documenting interface alignment, supporting/leading reviews, etc.)
  • Support Mechanical System Engineers with Bill of Material (PLM BOM management, alignment with supporting functions, prototype build alignment, etc.)
  • Support creation and revision of mechanical design processes
  • Provide support to understand customer requirements, develop, and maintain virtual validation plans
  • Provide support for CAE vs test correlation activities to improve virtual analysis methodologies
  • Provide support for ongoing CAE analysis, documentation of results, identify and implement design change recommendations
  • Support Component Engineers with Drawing/Model creation, Drawing quality checks, Requirements analysis, Design Reviews, SOR creation, and Sub-System BOM creation.
  • Supports and adheres to policies, procedures, and operational guidelines related to established quality management system (IATF 16949).
  • Maintains working knowledge of safety policies and regulations to ensure duties of self and others are performed in a safe manner.
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA required.
  • Enrolled in an engineering program with an accredited school.
  • Understand the basics of engineering theory and principles of design.
  • Working knowledge in computer based software, organizational/communication skills, ability to work withothers in a team environment.
