Job description

The Automotive Logistics Supervisor oversees shift-level inbound/outbound shipping, receiving, warehousing, and internal material handling operations, supervising material handlers and coordinating with Production, Purchasing, and Customer Service to maintain on-time delivery and inventory accuracy.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

●       Supervise 2nd shift shipping, receiving, and material handling associates, including forklift/tow-motor operators

●       Coordinate inbound/outbound trailer scheduling and carrier communication to meet customer delivery windows

●       Monitor and maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts, ASN/EDI transaction review, and WMS/ERP system use

●       Ensure compliance with customer packaging, labeling, and shipping requirements (ASN, kanban, Just-In-Time release schedules)

●       Partner with Production Scheduling to sequence material delivery to the line and prevent line-down events

●       Enforce safety procedures for material handling equipment, dock operations, and warehouse traffic

●       Support root-cause investigation and corrective action for shipping errors, shortages, and premium freight events

●       Track and report logistics KPIs (on-time delivery, inventory accuracy, premium freight, dock-to-stock time)

●       Train and develop material handlers on WMS/ERP transactions, equipment operation, and safety procedures

●       Support the annual physical inventory and ongoing cycle-count programs

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

●       Associate's or Bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics, or business preferred, or equivalent experience

●       3+ years of logistics/materials supervisory experience in an automotive or high-volume manufacturing environment

●       Experience with EDI, ASN, kanban/Just-In-Time delivery systems, and WMS/ERP platforms

●       Working knowledge of DOT/hazmat shipping requirements a plus

●       Strong organizational and problem-solving skills; able to manage competing priorities under tight delivery windows

●       Proficiency with MS Office; available to work 2nd shift and occasional weekends/overtime as needed
