FORVIA is looking for a year-round Quality Engineer Intern for its location in Fort Wayne, IN. Your mission, roles and responsibilities Our Clean Mobility Division is looking for a Quality Systems Engineering Intern for our Fort Wayne, IN location. The Quality Systems Engineering Intern supports the maintenance and continuous improvement of the plant's Quality Management System (QMS).

This role assists in ensuring compliance with IATF, ISO standards, customer requirements, and internal systems while gaining hands-on experience in automotive quality processes. The role of a Quality Systems Engineering Intern is to support the Quality team in the day to day activities. The main missions of the role are to: Assist in internal audits to verify compliance with IATF 16949 and ISO standards; help document findings and track corrective actions Support the Annual Internal Audit Plan, including scheduling, preparation, and follow-up activities Participate in internal audit execution alongside certified auditors Help review production processes and documentation to ensure adherence to quality standards Support Corrective Action (QRCI) activities, including tracking open issues, updating status reports, and identifying improvement opportunities Assist in monitoring scrap and quality performance metrics, including Top 5 issues Collaborate with Engineering, Production, and Quality teams to support problem-solving and continuous improvement efforts Support document control activities, including updating, organizing, and maintaining quality documentation Help ensure compliance with plant quality procedures and standards Participate in team meetings, audits, and improvement initiatives as assigned Complete additional tasks and projects as assigned by the Quality Manager Learning Opportunities Exposure to IATF and ISO quality systems Hands-on experience with internal audits and corrective actions Introduction to core automotive quality tools (PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, etc.) Cross-functional collaboration within a manufacturing environment Understanding of customer and OEM quality requirements Your profile and competencies to succeed Qualifications : The ideal candidate will have/be: Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or related field Interest in automotive manufacturing or quality systems Basic understanding of quality concepts (internship or coursework exposure preferred) Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment High level of attention to detail and willingness to learn Minimum 2.8 GPA This role is a Temporary opportunity with FORVIA and the term is estimated to for 6 months
