Job description

Build Your Career Where EV Experience Matters

Easterns Automotive Group is looking for an experienced Automotive Technician with electric vehicle experience to join our team.

If you have experience servicing Tesla vehicles, EVs, hybrids, or advanced vehicle electrical systems, we want to talk to you.

Easterns is one of the top pre-owned Tesla and pre-owned EV resellers in the United States, with significant EV sales volume from 2022 through 2026. For the right technician, that creates something many shops simply can't offer:

Consistent, real-world experience working with EV technology.

This isn't a role where EVs occasionally come through the shop. You'll have the opportunity to work with Tesla and a growing variety of electric and technologically advanced vehicles as part of your normal workload.

What You'll Do

As an Automotive EV Technician at Easterns, you'll diagnose, service, repair, and inspect a wide variety of vehicles, with an emphasis on electric and advanced-technology vehicles.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Diagnose and repair Tesla, EV, hybrid, and traditional gasoline-powered vehicles
  • Troubleshoot electrical, electronic, charging, communication, and drivability concerns
  • Perform mechanical and electrical repairs
  • Use scan tools, diagnostic software, service information, and testing equipment to accurately identify vehicle concerns
  • Perform used-vehicle inspections and identify required mechanical or safety repairs
  • Complete repairs efficiently while maintaining a high standard of workmanship
  • Document diagnoses, repairs, and recommendations clearly
  • Stay current as EV systems, vehicle software, and automotive technology continue to evolve
  • Work collaboratively with our service, inventory, and operations teams
EV & Tesla Experience Gets Our Attention

We are especially interested in technicians with experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Tesla diagnosis and repair
  • Battery electric vehicles (BEVs)
  • Hybrid and plug-in hybrid vehicles
  • High-voltage systems
  • EV charging systems
  • Advanced electrical diagnosis
  • Vehicle networks and communication systems
  • ADAS and modern vehicle electronics
  • Manufacturer or EV-specific training

Tesla experience is especially valuable, but it is not required.

If you're a strong automotive technician who has begun developing EV expertise—or you're ready to take your existing electrical and diagnostic skills further—we encourage you to apply.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate has:

  • Professional automotive repair experience
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting ability
  • Experience with EVs, hybrids, Tesla vehicles, or advanced automotive electrical systems
  • Understanding of safe repair practices around high-voltage vehicles
  • Ability to accurately diagnose a problem rather than simply replace parts
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Pride in quality workmanship
  • Ability to work effectively in a high-volume automotive environment
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record

ASE certifications and manufacturer-specific certifications are a plus.

Compensation

$25.00–$45.00 per hour

Compensation within the range will be based on experience, technical ability, certifications, and EV/Tesla expertise.

Technicians with strong diagnostic capabilities and meaningful Tesla or EV experience are especially encouraged to apply.

Why Easterns?

Easterns Automotive Group has been serving the Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia region for decades and has grown into one of the area's largest automotive organizations.

We're also embracing where the automotive industry is going.

As one of the country's leading pre-owned Tesla and EV resellers, Easterns gives technicians the opportunity to build experience with technology that will only become more important throughout their careers.

If you want to become more valuable as the automotive industry evolves, this is a place where you can put those skills to work every day.

Beyond the work itself, Easterns offers eligible full-time employees a comprehensive benefits package that includes:

  • Medical coverage with multiple Aetna plan options
  • Dental and vision coverage
  • HSA-eligible medical options with employer HSA contributions
  • Employer-paid life insurance and long-term disability coverage
  • Employee assistance and additional wellness resources
  • 401(k) retirement plan through Voya
  • 50% company match on the first 6% you contribute — up to a 3% employer contribution
  • 100% immediate vesting of the company 401(k) match
  • Optional self-directed investment access through Charles Schwab
A Career Built for What's Next

Cars are changing quickly.

The technicians who understand diagnostics, electronics, software, high-voltage systems, and EV technology are becoming some of the most valuable people in the automotive industry.

At Easterns, you don't have to wait for that future.

We're already selling the vehicles you'll be working on.

If you're an experienced automotive technician—and especially if you know Tesla and EVs—we'd like to meet you.

Apply today and let's talk about where your experience can take you at Easterns Automotive Group.
