Job Description:
This position will provide electromechanical field service engineering and technical assistance to customers in areas of installation support, testing, startup/commissioning, inspection, predictive maintenance, down machine repair, training and modification of Compass System’s equipment and systems in manufacturing environments. This position is a primary interface between the customer and Compass Systems amp; Sales Organization and plays a significant role in determining the Company’s image as viewed by the customer. The Field Service Organization is greatly dependent on this person's responsiveness, communication and continuous follow-up with current and future CS amp;S customer base.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform service and commissioning of equipment in the field, including on-call emergency, warranty repair…
  • Communicate with customers (External / Internal) in high pressure situations and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Visit customer sites to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment from and electrical and mechanical standpoint.
  • Provide system integration support for Engineering group.
  • Act as a consultant to our customer base regarding our systems.
  • Up to 80% travel may be required.
Education and Qualifications
  • Associate degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or a related discipline from an accredited college
  • 2-3 years of related work experience
  • Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting aptitude
  • Solid knowledge of PLC communications
  • Ability to perform/update potential programming changes within the PLC.
  • Knowledge of Siemens TIA portal, WinCC software, Siemens G120 AC Drives, Rockwell RSLogix and FactoryTalk language
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, ability to plan daily/weekly/ workloads.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask, manage multiple projects.
  • Ability to lift 75lbs.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to be insured.
  • Must be able to pass drug test at pre-employment and ongoing during employment.
Preferred
  • Automotive and/or Paper Industry experience
  • Experience with Pneumatic amp; Mechanical conveyors, Fans and Pressure Blowers, Diverters and Loadout Systems, Dust Collection Systems, Balers
