Job description

Position Summary

Odyssey Systems is seeking a Systems Engineer to support advanced situational awareness and multi-domain operations (MDO) programs. This role focuses on the design, analysis, and integration of RF and signal processing systems that enable next-generation battlefield awareness, electronic warfare, and spectrum management capabilities.

You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, analysts, and operators to design and deliver systems that integrate data from diverse sensors, communications, and radar systems to provide actionable intelligence and operational advantage. The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise in RF, signal processing, and spectrum management, along with experience contributing to mission-critical DoD programs in multi-domain environments.

This position supports Engineering, Professional, and Information Management (EPIM) services under the Army RS3 vehicle. RS3 covers a wide scope of mission support including Engineering, Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation (RDT&E), Logistics, and Acquisition & Strategic Planning.

This is a full time position located at MacDill AFB, FL or Ft. Belvoir, VA.

Responsibilities

Duties include, but not limited to: 

  • Support the development, decomposition, and management of system-level requirements and technical baselines.

  • Coordinate engineering activities across hardware, software, test, and program management teams.

  • Assist in interface definition, control, and verification across subsystems and external stakeholders.

  • Participate in system architecture discussions, trade studies, and technical reviews.

  • Track program risks, issues, and action items, ensuring timely resolution and documentation.

  • Support the creation and maintenance of program schedules, integration plans, and configuration management artifacts.

  • Contribute to verification and validation planning, test readiness activities, and requirements traceability.

  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including specifications, interface control documents (ICDs), and system engineering plans.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with program objectives, milestones, and quality standards.

  • Provide technical input to program leadership and assist in stakeholder communication.

Qualifications

Citizenship: Must be a US citizen

Minimum Required Qualifications

Clearance: Active Secret (ability to obtain TS/SCI with CI Poly required)

Education: Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical field

Experience: 3-6 years of experience in systems engineering, program integration, or multidisciplinary engineering roles

  • Understanding of systems engineering principles, including requirements management, verification/validation, and configuration control

  • Experience with systems engineering tools such as DOORS, Jama, Cameo, JIRA, or Confluence

  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and interface documents

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively across diverse engineering teams

Preferred Qualifications

Education: Master's degree in Systems Engineering or related discipline

Technical Skills

  • Experience in aerospace, defense, automotive, or other complex system development environments

  • Knowledge of model-based systems engineering (MBSE) methods and tools

  • Familiarity with risk management, trade studies, and technical decision-making frameworks

  • Experience supporting design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR) and program milestone activities

  • Understanding of configuration management and change control processes

  • Ability to lead integration efforts and influence cross-functional technical decisions
