Duties

  • Perform comprehensive diagnostics on automotive electrical systems, engines, transmissions, and other vehicle components using specialized automotive diagnostic tools and schematics.
  • Repair and maintain a wide range of vehicle systems including powertrain, engine, electrical wiring, ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), and suspension components.
  • Conduct engine repairs on both gasoline and diesel engines, ensuring adherence to manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
  • Interpret automotive wiring diagrams and schematics to troubleshoot electrical issues accurately.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and heavy lifting techniques to perform mechanical repairs, alignments, and vehicle maintenance tasks efficiently.
  • Diagnose and repair ADAS features such as lane departure warnings, adaptive cruise control, and collision avoidance systems.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by explaining repairs clearly, maintaining professionalism, and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the service process.
Requirements

  • Proven dealership experience or extensive mechanic experience working with a variety of vehicle makes and models.
  • Strong knowledge of automotive engine systems, electrical wiring diagrams, and diagnostic procedures.
  • Experience with diesel engine repair and heavy-duty vehicle maintenance is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with automotive repair tools including power tools, hand tools, alignment equipment, and diagnostic scanners.
  • Ability to interpret schematics and technical manuals related to automotive electrical systems and engine technology.
  • Mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems such as powertrain components, transmission systems, suspension, brakes, and electrical systems.
  • Physical ability to perform manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting and prolonged standing or walking.
  • Excellent customer service skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities 
  • Use your expertise and diagnostic tools to evaluate vehicle malfunction codes
  • Carry out routine vehicle maintenance tasks such as tire rotations, oil changes, and brake pad replacements
  • Conduct in-depth vehicle inspections of all systems, including engine, transmission, and brakes
  • Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and repeat business 
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED is required
  • Automotive Service Excellence/ASE certification or Society of Automotive Engineers/SAE certification is preferred
  • Strong customer service and communications skills are required
