Eaton's IS AER FED division is currently seeking a Sr. Electrical Design Engineer. This role is based in Bethel, CT.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $86000 - $126000 a year.

What you'll do:
Summary:
Eaton Aerospace in Bethel, CT, with support to Glenolden, PA, has an opening for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer specializing in the design, development, integration, and validation of pressure transducers, analog sensing systems, and aerospace electronic hardware.
The primary function of this position is to lead electrical design activities for both sustaining products and new product development, with a focus on sensor electronics, signal conditioning circuits, analog measurement systems, and electromechanical sensor integration. The engineer will be responsible for translating customer requirements into robust electronic designs that meet aerospace standards for accuracy, reliability, environmental performance, and manufacturability.
This position requires expertise in analog sensor technologies including pressure, temperature, and MEMS-based sensing devices. Design activities include schematic capture, PCB design oversight, circuit simulation, sensor characterization, tolerance analysis, design verification, qualification testing, and configuration control throughout the product lifecycle.
The Senior Electrical Design Engineer will work closely with mechanical engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and customer engineering teams to develop products from concept through production utilizing Eaton's Phase-Gate product development process.
Responsibilities:
• Provide engineering solutions that meet customer performance requirements, interface details, reliability, cost and schedule requirements. Works with customers to define explicit non-ambiguous requirements. Provides technical direction for assigned projects from initial concept phase to product delivery.
• Understand electro-mechanical systems and robust design methods. Responsible for concept layout, modeling, detailing, release and change management of drawings in configuration control system. Ensures compliance to Quality system requirements.
• Perform component selection based upon accuracy, reliability, environmental conditions, lifecycle, and cost requirements.
• Capable of working directly with the customer and clearly discuss drawings, engineering reports, and manufacturing processes.
• Review customer specifications and drawings and developing Compliance Matrices against requirements.
• Manage and release drawings, models and documentation through Eaton's product lifecycle management system.
• Develop plans for design verification and validation testing for design compliance. Provides support in the testing environment.
• Implement product improvement and cost reduction initiatives by evaluating engineering change requests.
• Perform Failure investigations associated with field, production and/or development/certification hardware.
• Support sales and marketing in generation of proposals and responses to customer inquiries.
• Oversee the design, build, and testing of engineering prototypes for proposals and internal research and development projects.

Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from ABET accredited university
• Minimum 3 years of demonstrated experience in electrical or electro-mechanical design including CAD modeling, schematic layouts, electronic circuit simulation, and drawing creation.
• Demonstrated experience in PCB design, component assessment and design for manufacturability.
• Experience with pressure, temperature, or other sensor types.
• Experience in the creation of product assembly and test procedures.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Aerospace / Automotive / Electronics industry experience preferred. Preferred MEMS sensor integration, pressure sensing and/or aerospace industry experience preferred
• Experience with manufacturing processes, product testing, electrical stress analysis, and thermal analysis preferred.
• Understanding of qualification testing including civil and military requirements, particularly RTCA DO-160, RTCA DO-254, MIL-STD-810 and MIL-STD-461.

• Capable of developing conclusions from analyses and applying results to support project team's activities.
• Demonstrates ability to clearly explain and discuss drawings, engineering analyses, and manufacturing processes
• Up to 10% of travel
