Advanced Cores Group

Job Duties and Responsibilities

In this role, you will be a leader for, and key member of, our design and development team. You will set direction for others, take a significant role in defining converter specification and architecture, and drive execution of those converters from concept through release to production. You should exhibit a strong, intuitive capability in solving complex challenges. The ability to self-motivate and to motivate others on the team is also highly valuable. Your work will include:

  • Architecting data converter solutions to meet a diverse set of application requirements, with a focus on state-of-the-art multi-GHz sample rate and bandwidth

  • Developing and implementing calibration algorithms for digitally-assisted analog circuits

  • Designing challenging transistor-level circuits

  • Collaborating with internal and external customers, working across multiple sites and multiple teams

  • Preparing effective design documents and conducting engaging design reviews

  • Guiding layout, evaluation, and test engineering teams

  • Mentoring other design engineers

Qualifications

  • M.S. or beyond in Electrical Engineering

  • 20+ years' experience in CMOS design

  • Proven track record and technical expertise in high-speed data converter design, with architectures such as pipeline ADC, SAR ADC, or current-steering DAC.

  • Intimate understanding of time-interleaved data converters.

  • Experience designing a wide range of circuits such as wide bandwidth amplifiers and comparators, switched capacitor circuits, precision voltage and current references, LDOs.

  • Experience in Cadence schematic capture and SPICE simulation tools.

  • Signal processing knowledge is a strong plus, particularly as it relates to calibration algorithms.

  • Experience with MATLAB, for example used as a behavioral modeling tool.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills, and ability to work in a large team.
