Job description

2nd Procurement – Procurement Management Position Summary:

This position is responsible for finding the most accurate cost to develop negotiation strategy, and use effective negotiation strategy to influence a party to adjust their position based on the analysis to align with accurate costs and mutually beneficial interests.

Outline of duties:
  • Responsible for supplier accounts with an average annual spend of $120 million
  • Leads in achieving company sourcing targets
    • Gains industry knowledge of commodity group and automotive industry trends
    • Creates long-term sourcing strategy for commodity group
    • Facilitates new supplier vetting (including on-site and financial audits)
    • Executes sourcing strategies through the sourcing decision making process
    • Reports and gains final approval up to executive level management
  • Leads company cost reduction activity
    • Cost structure and supply-chain analysis
    • Supplier production process evaluation and improvement activity
    • Supplier negotiation
    • Initiates VA/VE activity through collaboration with design & quality engineers
    • Contract management activity
    • Engineering change cost analysis and approval contract activity
  • Tactical support for supplier quality, delivery, development, packaging, AP/AR, and service parts
  • All other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Business, Engineering, Finance, or a related field of study
  • Strong computer skills including Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint
Desired Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree plus 3-5 years relevant experience in Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Business, Engineering, Finance, or a related field of study
  • Understanding of Purchasing and product development process
  • Production process background/knowledge
