Job Title: Automotive Estimator
Reports To: Operations Manager / General Manager
Position Summary
The Automotive Estimator is responsible for inspecting damaged vehicles, preparing accurate repair estimates, communicating with customers and insurance companies, and ensuring repairs are properly documented from start to finish. This position plays a critical role in delivering excellent customer service while maintaining profitability and repair quality.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  •  Greet customers and provide exceptional customer service throughout the repair process. 
  •  Inspect damaged vehicles and create complete, accurate repair estimates using estimating software (CCC ONE, Mitchell, or Audatex). 
  •  Identify all visible damage and work with technicians to uncover and document hidden damage. 
  •  Submit estimates and supplements to insurance companies and negotiate repairs when necessary. 
  •  Communicate repair timelines and updates to customers. 
  •  Schedule repairs and coordinate vehicle intake. 
  •  Order parts and verify correct pricing and availability when needed. 
  •  Review repair orders with technicians to ensure all necessary operations are included. 
  •  Monitor repair progress and issue supplements as additional damage is discovered. 
  •  Ensure all documentation, photos, and repair records are complete and accurate. 
  •  Maintain compliance with OEM repair procedures and insurance guidelines. 
  •  Assist with final quality control before vehicle delivery. 
  •  Explain invoices and completed repairs to customers at vehicle pickup. 
  •  Help maintain CSI (Customer Satisfaction Index) scores by providing outstanding communication and service. 
  •  Work closely with production staff to keep repairs moving efficiently. 
  •  Follow all company policies and safety procedures. 
Qualifications
  •  High school diploma or GED required. 
  •  Previous experience in collision repair estimating preferred. 
  •  Knowledge of automotive repair procedures and vehicle construction.
