We are currently seeking two Automotive Engineerfor Conveyor Systems in the Assembly Area for a client in the automotive industry. This role is based in Vance, AL that requires onsite presence. PURPOSE:
The Automotive Conveyor Engineer is responsible for coordinating conveyor technology projects by connecting internal departments, external suppliers, and international project teams. Acting as the central communication link between the production facility in Alabama and the planning organization in Germany, this role supports the successful execution of projects from planning through implementation.
The position ensures effective collaboration across engineering, manufacturing, and supplier teams while maintaining project schedules, resolving issues, and supporting the installation of conveyor systems within Body Shop, Paint Shop, and Assembly operations. Working in a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment, the Project Liaison contributes to delivering projects that meet quality, timing, and operational objectives.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Act as the onsite coordinator for conveyor technology projects and serve as the primary contact for project-related communication.
  • Build and maintain effective communication between engineering, production, suppliers, project teams, and management.
  • Track project activities, milestones, and overall progress while providing routine status updates to stakeholders.
  • Recognize potential project risks early and coordinate appropriate corrective actions to reduce project impact.
  • Support project planning by coordinating schedules, resource requirements, and budget-related activities to help ensure successful project completion.
  • Assist in developing project documentation, technical specifications, and compliance with established quality expectations.
  • Partner with engineering and manufacturing teams to investigate and resolve technical challenges associated with conveyor systems.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
  • At least three 3 years of project management experience within the automotive industry or a comparable manufacturing environment.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
  • Strong knowledge of conveyor systems and their integration into manufacturing operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously while meeting established deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate across diverse technical and business teams.
  • Experience using project management principles, tools, and best practices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with the capacity to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
PREFERED SKILLS
  • In-depth knowledge of operations at car manufacturer located in Vance Alabama is preferred
  • German language skill is preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Work is normally performed in an office, laboratory, manufacturing floor, or machine shop setting where physical work includes, but is not limited to sitting, standing, reaching, kneeling, bending, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
  • Must be able to understand and comply with all relevant safety practices.
