Job Description

Automation Engineer using vRealize Automation (vRA) and vRealize Orchestrator (vRO)

Duration: 3-6 months

Location: downtown Chicago, IL

Need GC and USC

The Automation Engineer is responsible for creating automation scripts. The person works with the Architecture, Development groups, Engineering, and Operations to establish standards, best practices and automation infrastructure solutions. This engineer will provide technical guidance in automation by defining standards, assisting with research and design and implementing the required technology for performing automated OS builds and application installs. This engineer will be responsible for designing, creating, maintaining and continually improving orchestrated workflows to automate IT processes throughout the enterprise. This engineer is expected to work closely with Middleware, Database and compute, Security, network operations, data center team and engineering groups to create automation solutions.

Responsibilities Include:

MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE w/Automated provisioning using vRealize Automation (vRA) and vRealize Orchestrator (vRO)

Serves as a subject matter expert for automation and orchestration

Supports the existing Automation Portals and provisioning scripts.

Develop Linux and Windows provisioning scripting using multiple languages/scripting technologies

Ability to support the automation environment including troubleshooting vRA and vRO issues.

Define and implement efficient end-to-end provisioning of Linux and Windows VMs.

Work with application teams to automate the installation of applications and middleware

Develop and document automated workflows

Qualifications

Excellent scripting skills (Example: shell scripts, PowerShell, Javascript.

Ability to create vRealize workflows that utilize multiple systems/APIs/Languages

Experience with Service now APIs

Knowledge of VMware, Storage and Database technologies.

Excellent coding and GUI skills.

Development skills in Service now.

Experience with RedHat Linux, Windows Server 2008 and 2012.

Core Java web application/automation development and ability to provide automation solutions.

Hands on working knowledge with a high level object-oriented programming language is highly desirable.

Experience with Amazon Web Services and/or Microsoft Azure a plus.

VRA -6.x and VRO 6.X

Experience with Vmware Code Stream, vRA 6.x and vRO 6.x is a plus
