Job Summary:
Esri is a leading company in GIS technology, and they are seeking a Sr. Product Engineer specializing in Cloud Automation. This role involves collaborating with software developers to enhance automation tools for deploying and managing ArcGIS Enterprise in cloud environments.
Responsibilities:
• Evaluate and improve the quality, scalability, and performance of Esri’s cloud and Kubernetes automation technology
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure automation aligns with customer needs, usability standards, and deployment best practices
• Gather, analyze, and prioritize user requirements, turning them into actionable development and testing plans
• Design and refine user experiences for automation tools, emphasizing clarity, simplicity, and maintainability
• Document and communicate the proper use of Esri’s cloud automation technology through clear documentation, demos, presentations, and blogs
• Stay current on emerging cloud and containerization trends to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement
Qualifications:
Required:
• 5+ years of experience designing, deploying, or automating solutions in AWS and/or Azure, with deep understanding of core cloud services such as compute, networking, storage, identity, and monitoring
• Proven experience with infrastructure automation, including architecting and maintaining automated deployments for cloud-native and containerized applications
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across engineering, product, and support teams
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot distributed systems, APIs, and deployment pipelines
• Proficiency in scripting or configuration management tools such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, information systems, or a related technical field

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and configuration management tools such as CloudFormation, Terraform, Chef, PowerShell DSC, or Helm
