Contract to hire

Client is seeking a Sr. IT Technical Specialist to provide handson onsite technical support, advanced troubleshooting, and ongoing maintenance of IT systems and equipment. This role supports a major facility relocation project from Houston to the Washington/MD region and requires strong scripting, systems administration, and crossplatform support capabilities.

The ideal candidate brings a blend of Windows, Mac, mobile device management, automation scripting, and cloud platform familiarity, along with excellent communication and customersupport skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide onsite technical support for end users, IT equipment, and local infrastructure.
  • Support a facility move project, including device setup, system migrations, hardware validation, and environment readiness.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting across Windows, macOS, mobile devices, and network components.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell, Python, and Bash.
  • Manage user accounts, groups, and permissions across Active Directory, Azure AD, and MDM platforms.
  • Administer and maintain Windows and Mac OS environments, including imaging, patching, and configuration.
  • Support LAN/WAN/VPN troubleshooting and coordinate with network teams as needed.
  • Assist with cloudrelated tasks across Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud environments.
  • Ensure adherence to ITIL processes for incident, problem, and change management.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, asset tracking, and operational runbooks.
Required Skills & Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in IT Support, Systems Administration, or Technical Analyst roles.
  • Strong scripting experience with PowerShell, Python, and Bash.
  • Handson experience with MDM platforms (Intune, JAMF, Workspace ONE, etc.).
  • Advanced administration of Windows 10/11 and macOS.
  • Solid understanding of LAN/WAN/VPN, network protocols, and troubleshooting tools.
  • Experience managing user accounts, groups, and permissions in AD/Azure AD.
  • Familiarity with Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud environments.
  • Working knowledge of ITIL framework; ITIL Foundation preferred.

· CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+

· Microsoft MCSA, MD102, Azure Fundamentals (AZ900)

· Any relevant cloud, network, or security certifications
