Basic Job Functions: We are seeking an Automation Technician responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing multi-axis robots, automated cranes, and various automation systems. This shift-based role requires proficiency in Level 1 and Level 2 automation systems. The ideal candidate should have a passion for continuous learning, adaptability in fast-paced environments, and a proactive approach to technical challenges. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times. Opportunities for Growth: This role offers the chance to expand your skills within a dynamic environment, with opportunities to advance into specialized automation roles and leadership positions. Key Responsibilites: Automated Equipment: Perform regular maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair on multi-axis robots, automated cranes, and various automation systems to ensure smooth, reliable operation. PLC and HMI Expertise: Manage, troubleshoot, and program PLCs and HMIs for efficient control of automated systems. System Monitoring and Optimization: Oversee Level 2 systems for optimal operation, monitoring system performance, identifying improvement areas, and applying best practices. Technical Documentation: Maintain detailed records of repairs, maintenance, and adjustments on all automated systems.
