This role provides day-to-day technical support for automated and semi-automated manufacturing and test equipment (including TM-500 automation, winders, robots, and inspection systems such as OGP/Keyence), performing troubleshooting, setup, repair, preventive maintenance support, and continuous improvement to maximize uptime, safety, and product quality.

Job Location:

This position is located on-site Yankton, SD. We are situated in Southeast South Dakota: on the banks of the Missouri River and minutes from Lewis and Clark Lake where you can enjoy a variety of outdoor recreational activities.

What you will be doing:

  • Perform sustainment activities to reduce repeat issues: capture problem statements, document fixes, update troubleshooting guides, and recommend corrective actions to engineering and maintenance.
  • Support preventive maintenance and calibration activities in partnership with Maintenance/Metrology; identify wear items and maintain spares/consumables for critical automation assets.
  • Provide off-shift/on-call or off-site support as needed for critical issues and project support (as assigned).
  • Assist engineers with automation improvement projects (minor controls changes, fixture/tooling improvements, sensor upgrades, error-proofing) and participate in kaizen/continuous improvement activities.
  • Support documentation and training: update work instructions, equipment setup sheets, and checklists.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and 5S around automation equipment, cabinets, tooling, and spare parts.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Good mechanical and electrical skills.
  • Knowledge of electronics manufacturing and quality requirements a plus.

Please note that work is performed in a manufacturing/production environment with exposure to moving machinery, electrical panels, and production noise. Position requires adherence to all site EHS and LOTO requirements. Required PPE must be worn in designated areas (e.g., safety glasses, hearing protection, safety shoes, and other PPE as required by task/area). May require standing/walking for extended periods, bending, reaching, and lifting to established site limits with or without assistance.
