Job Summary

Loudoun County's Department of Parks, Recreation, and Community Services (PRCS) is seeking qualified candidates for the Automation Analyst position. Under the general supervision of the appointed supervisor, aids in the configuration, support, and upkeep of enterprise applications managed by the County's Information Technology (IT) Department and utilized by the Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department.
The responsibilities of the Automation Analyst encompass focusing on software support, diagnosing and assessing software, managing forms, overseeing software contracts and subscriptions, and conveying technical concepts to staff clearly. This position applies structured programming techniques to fulfill the information and automation demands of users; troubleshoots basic problems; gathers requirements; creates enhancements and extensions for applications; performs testing; guarantees quality; documents technical, operational, and maintenance activities; and communicates with business customers regarding the system's status.
We are currently hiring for the following location(s):

  • PRCS, 742 Miller Drive SE, Leesburg, VA
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Assisting with needs assessments for various automation processes and software projects.
  • Supporting and assisting in PRCS IT project management and software research and evaluation.
  • Managing software renewals, new contract requests, and submissions for County Department of Technology Security reviews.
  • Maintaining PRCS IT policies.
  • Writing and updating process documents and application instructions.
  • Updating and maintaining automated forms and workflow processes as changes occur.
  • Assisting with automation implementation, testing, training, and feedback.
This position may carry out additional critical job responsibilities that are specific to the role and departmental assignment.
Hiring Salary is Commensurate with Experience. Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, including Information Systems and one (1) year of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with software implementation, process workflows, and an understanding of government software procurement.

Job Contingencies and Special Requirements

Successful candidates will undergo criminal, fingerprint, credit, and DMV background checks. A valid driver's license and a good driving record are required. Annual evaluations of driving records may be performed to confirm continued eligibility when necessary for job-related responsibilities.
