Job Summary

Automation Engineers at Blue Ridge Automation play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and implementing advanced automated systems and processes to enhance our operational efficiency. This role involves working on complex automation projects and working closely with various teams to identify automation opportunities and develop solutions that align with our strategic goals and company values. The Automation Engineer will ensure his or her automation projects adhere to industry standards and best practices, delivering high-quality results across diverse industries.
Key Responsibilities

  • Design and Development: Participate in the design, development, and implementation of advanced automation solutions for various processes, including machine control, instrumentation, HMI, SCADA, control power distribution, and process controls.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify automation needs and develop tailored solutions.

  • Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot and resolve complex automation-related issues promptly.

  • Documentation: Document automation processes, procedures, and system configurations for future reference and compliance purposes.

  • Testing and Validation: Conduct rigorous testing and validation of automated systems to ensure they meet performance and quality standards.

  • Industry Standards: Ensure all projects adhere to relevant industry standards, including S88, UL 508A, and CSIA, through regular audits and evaluations.

  • On Site Implementation: Provide field troubleshooting, start-up and commissioning support

  • Problem Solving: Perform complex problem-solving tasks that involve reviewing information, actively detecting problems, developing, and evaluating options, selecting, and implementing the best solutions

  • Project Management: Manage workloads and meet project benchmarks—communicating progress both internally and externally.

Job Requirements

  • 1-3 Years’ experience in automation, control systems, and/or Liquid Process preferred.

  • PLC Programming Proficiency; Preferable Allen-Bradley (ControlLogix & Compactlogix) RS-Logix 5000, (SLC 500) RS-Logix 500

  • HMI Proficiency – Factory TalkView SE,Wonderware, and Ignition Preferred

  • VFD Experience (Variable Frequency Drives)

  • Experience in OT Networking

  • Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to building and maintaining strong client relationships

  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development

  • Valid Driver’s license required
