Job Description OT Network Engineer II - Decatur, ILThis is an exempt level position. Position Summary: As a key member of the Operational Technology (OT) team, you will be responsible for advancing the capabilities and performance of network infrastructure within the ADM OT/Process Automation (PA) environment. You will work closely with OT engineers and PA engineers, and partner with key business segments, Global Technology (GT, which is ADM's IT dept.), and your global OT peers to provide enhanced plant support and high-quality project delivery. Job Responsibilities: Create innovative network engineering solutions and designs within defined standards and architectures, ensuring that designs work holistically within larger solutions Specify, configure, implement, and maintain plant process level networking hardware Create build instructions and Low Level diagrams (rack elevation drawing, full connection path to each endpoint on the network, IP Address, switch specific configuration information, fiber pair for process, and port/cable numbers or labels for each device) for network engineering designs and support operations teams during implementation Implement and manage effective network security Utilize monitoring tools, packet capture and other analytic utilities to assess potential issues and maintain network health Design, enhance and manage MDF and IDF closets including cabling, racking and power systems in partnership with GT Perform capacity planning and lifecycle management to ensure all hardware, firmware, and software provides seamless service to plants Manage and implement firewall rules and changes as needed Proactively seek out opportunities for continuous improvement of systems and processes and propose improvement activities Incorporate security-by-design into all solutions, ensuring that security requirements are considered concurrently with technical requirements Work closely with GT and PA leads as an escalation point, providing OT network engineering support to operations teams, assisting with incident resolution Liaise with third party vendors when appropriate to create engineering solutions to review and implement those solutions as well as continuous improvement proposals Carry out continuous personal development, ensuring technical skills are kept up to date and non-technical skills are gained and improved Provide boots on the ground support for ADM plants -emergency and break fix, planned installations, limited personal computer/end user support, etc. Some travel and on-call work are expected as part of this position Required Skills: Ability to manage the lifecycle, maintenance, and upgrades of network technologies Understanding of switch programming and commands Experience in network architecture design and development, both physical and virtual Understanding of OT network communication protocols (including TCP/IP, UDP, DNP3, Modbus, IEC 61850, OPC, OPC UA, and PROFINET) Highly motivated, self-starter Comfortable working with cross-functional global teams Strong documentation and organizational skills Must have the ability to skillfully manage multiple projects simultaneously and succeed in an environment of competing priorities Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment; willingness to learn new skills and take direction from other team members; and ability to organize information and manage time efficiently Experience in supporting plant operations and 24/7 operating requirements Experience of working as a technology generalist with a high-level understanding of end-to-end solutions including infrastructure, applications, databases, networking, and security Required Qualifications: Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline Experience supporting enterprise-level technology operations and services, including experience managing the lifecycle, maintenance, and upgrades of network technologies Ability to travel or work on-call as needed Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a manufacturing environment Bachelors degree (or higher) in a technical discipline such as computer science, engineering, etc. Network-specific experience Technical experience with Process Automation systems, including Rockwell, Emerson DeltaV or Valmet (Novatech) D/3, would be considered an asset for the position Excited about this role but don't think you meet every requirement listed?
