Job description

We're looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Data Engineer Intern to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in corporate finance and analytics, working with cutting-edge tools and contributing to data-driven decision-making within our company.
You'll play a key role in developing and maintaining our analytics platform, with a focus on the thoughtful use of AI to enable agentic analytics. You will work closely with experienced engineers and stakeholders across the business to translate business needs into data requirements and then create data products that inform business strategy.
  • This position will be hybrid out of our Lehi, Utah HQ
  • Reports to: Manager of Data Operations
What You Will Own
  • Data Platform Enhancements: Improve the platform that enables analytics at Weave, including expanding the use of AI in analytics and engineering agents.
  • Data Modeling: Learn and understand existing data models supporting our data and insights initiatives. Assist in the refinement and creation of new data models to enhance analytics capabilities.
  • Data Analysis and Exploration: Conduct data exploration and preliminary analysis to support the identification of use cases and deep understanding of source systems.
  • Data Solution Support: Assist in the maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of existing data pipelines and data products to ensure performance and accuracy.
  • Documentation: Contribute to the documentation of data operations processes and data models to ensure clarity and maintainability.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with analysts and business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver effective data and insights solutions.
What You Will Need to Accomplish the Job
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Statistics, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • Foundational understanding of business intelligence concepts and data analysis principles.
  • Experience or coursework in database concepts and data modeling basics.
  • Proficiency in SQL for querying and manipulating data.
  • Familiarity with data visualization concepts and tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks and collaborate effectively within a team environment.
