Javlyn Process Systems a member of Krones Process Group North America is seeking a skilled Electrical Controls Engineer to develop, design, and implement electrical and automation systems for liquid processing facilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial control systems, electrical schematics, and process automation specific to fluid handling systems.

Javlyn Process Systems is a process engineering and control system integration company employing degreed Computer, Electrical, Chemical, and Mechanical engineers. Our focus is on providing automated process system solutions for the food, beverage, dairy, and pharmaceutical industries. We fulfill a niche within these industries by offering custom solutions and professional services to design and operate manufacturing facilities under optimal conditions. We are a subsidiary of Krones AG, an international firm with over 20,000 employees worldwide.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Electrical Design & Documentation
    • Develop detailed electrical design packages including control panel layouts, wiring
    • diagrams/schematics and I/O lists.
    • Develop Motor Control Center designs and layouts.
    • Select and specify electrical components (PLC I/O, Safety Equipment, VFDs, Enclosures,
    • etc.) suitable for liquid processing environments.
    • Ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Process Integration
    • Collaborate with process engineers to integrate control systems with pumps, valves and field instrumentation that measure temperatures, flows, pressures, levels, etc.
  • Project Execution & Support
    • Participate in cost estimating.
    • Lead electrical checkout efforts at control panel fabrication shops.
    • Assist with electrical system check-out efforts at the client’s facility during commissioning and start-up phases.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5 to 15 years of experience in electrical and automation design, preferably in the liquid processing industry (e.g., dairy, food, brewing, chemical, etc).
  • Experience designing control systems with PLC’s
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Knowledge of applicable electrical codes and standards.
  • Ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams and communicate with vendors, contractors, and clients.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or related field.
  • Familiarity with process instrumentation.
  • Understanding of network communication protocols such as Ethernet/IP and I/O Link.

Work Environment:

  • Combination of office-based design work and field/site visits. Travel (20-25%) throughout the U.S. is required. The amount of travel varies based on project assignments, project location, and level of responsibility.
