As a Controls Technician, you'll develop and program PLC, Servo, and HMI controls software for packaging automation machinery. You'll solve complex challenges with your expert troubleshooting skills to help exceed customer expectations.Are you excited about this work?
  • Prepare PLC, Servo, and HMI software from existing software libraries.

  • Confer with mechanical and electrical engineering personnel to prepare software modifications as required.

  • Interpret technical specifications and application parameters.

  • Assist installation team during install, start up and commissioning of new machines.

  • Participate in the start-up of new packaging automation equipment.

  • Perform software modifications to existing machines.

  • Collaborate with mechanical and electrical hardware engineering team to execute projects.

  • Travel to customer sites to support servicing and commissioning of packaging automation equipment.

  • Partner with all other departments as needed.

  • Applied Science (2-year degree) with emphasis in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, Industrial Automation or Programming preferred.

  • PLC programming, HMI development and troubleshooting skills.

  • General understanding of automation; including but not limited to high-speed assembly machinery, general automation technology.

  • PLC Programming (Allen Bradley) and Ladder Logic experience required.

  • Demonstrated understanding of engineering theories and principles.

  • Ability to work in team environment and a focus on customer service.

  • Strong problem identification and resolution skills.

  • Effective attention to detail, high degree of accuracy.

  • Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills.

  • Experience with AutoCAD and blueprint reading preferred.

  • Willingness to travel roughly 10 to 20 percent.
