IT & Automation Systems Specialist

CFS Technology has been retained by a well-established and growing Central California organization to identify an IT & Automation Systems Specialist. This is a unique opportunity for a hands-on professional who enjoys working at the intersection of industrial automation, operational technology (OT), and IT infrastructure.

In this role, you'll partner with operations and IT leadership to improve production uptime, optimize automated systems, and support the technology that keeps manufacturing operations running efficiently. If you have experience with PLCs, industrial controls, networking, and production systems, this position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own and support PLC, HMI, and industrial control systems across automated production lines.
  • Troubleshoot complex automation, controls, and equipment issues to minimize downtime.
  • Lead automation upgrades, system enhancements, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Standardize control system programming, documentation, and best practices.
  • Support industrial network infrastructure, including switches, VLANs, and device connectivity.
  • Ensure reliable communication between PLCs, HMIs, vision systems, and production servers.
  • Partner with IT on backups, cybersecurity, and system architecture.
  • Assist with ERP and automation system integrations to improve operational efficiency.
