Electrical Controls Engineer - Direct Hire

A global leader in manufacturing is seeking a Senior Electrical Controls Engineer to join their team in Columbus, Ohio. This position will support both plant engineering and research and development projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement automation and manufacturing information systems.
  • Integrate data collection technologies for research and product lifecycle management.
  • Design electrical circuits, panels, and systems for industrial equipment.
  • Program and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, and robots, ensuring efficient control systems.
  • Implement IoT/Industry 4.0 solutions for data analysis, maintenance, and performance improvement.
  • Manage electrical controls for plant projects, including design, installation, and debugging.
  • Collaborate with R&D, Operations, and IT teams to meet project requirements and improve systems.
  • Maintain and update process diagrams, documentation, and network configurations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, IT, or similar field.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience, with a background in manufacturing preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial controls, PLC programming, power distribution, and electrical codes.
  • Proficiency in PLCs (Allen Bradley, Automation Direct), HMIs, SQL, and Power BI.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Autodesk Fusion, SAP, and industrial Ethernet networks.
