Job Brief
Kable Workforce Solutions is hiring a SR PLC Controls Project Engineer for our client. This job is responsible for the design, development, programming, implementation, and support of advanced robotic automation systems with a primary focus on PLC and HMI controls. This role serves as a technical leader on complex automation projects, managing electrical design, controls architecture, customer communications, project execution, and system startup activities.
What’s a Typical Day Like?
  • Design, develop, program, and support robotic automation systems to meet customer specifications and project requirements
  • Develop complete PLC and HMI programs utilizing Allen Bradley and Siemens platforms
  • Perform advanced electrical calculations to verify design requirements and system performance
  • Create electrical schematics, control panel designs, bills of materials (BOMs), and supporting documentation
  • Develop, test, startup, debug, and validate complete automation systems
  • Analyze test data to ensure systems meet functional and performance specifications
  • Apply industry standards including NEC, ANSI-RIA, OSHA, and applicable electrical codes
  • Develop standard engineering solutions and best practices for future automation projects
  • Lead complex automation and controls projects from concept through customer acceptance
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining schedules and deliverables
  • Assist with project budgeting, forecasting, milestone tracking, and resource planning
  • Support project kickoff meetings and provide technical leadership throughout project execution
  • Communicate project status, risks, and technical challenges to stakeholders

  • Serve as the primary technical contact for customers throughout project execution

What Are the Requirements of the Job?
