Description
Scientific Research Corporation (SRC) is seeking a highly experienced DevSecOps Engineer to support the Test Resource Management Center's operation of the Artificial Intelligence Digital Engineering Test Laboratory (AIDETL) in Augusta, Georgia. This role will be pivotal in developing the next generation of government AI Test & Evaluation professionals for the Department of War. The DevSecOps Engineer serves as the authoritative voice on all matters related to DevSecOps within the AIDETL's operational environment. The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter with good interpersonal skills and the willingness to mentor interns.
In this role, you will work alongside other SME's, students, interns, engineers, AI and DE experts from academia and other industry teammates to translate operational and strategic requirements into educational opportunities as well as scalable, production-ready solutions. You will contribute directly to product planning, execution, intern mentoring and continuous improvement-helping ensure qualified individuals are delivered efficiently to the Department of War and positioned for sustained success.
This position offers the opportunity to work on a high-visibility, mentorship program at the intersection of data, analytics, and emerging AI technologies. Ideal candidates are motivated by mission impact, have strong interpersonal skills and the willingness to mentor interns, must be comfortable operating in complex stakeholder environments, and interested in building deep domain expertise while delivering capabilities and training individuals with real-world national security outcomes.
Responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to:
  • Serving as the DevSecOps Expert for the AIDETL Interns and staff, providing authoritative guidance on strategy, architecture, policy, and implementation aligned with the AIDETL's mission objectives
  • Providing expert-level training, workshops, and briefings to AIDETL Interns on DevSecOps concepts and best practices
  • Mentoring students in MBSE, digital twin development, and testing AI within a larger system architecture
  • Assisting in AIDETL curriculum development
  • Executing the developing, operation and maintenance of DevSecOps processes, tools and an automation pipeline that supports traditional application software development, integration of third-party applications and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) scripts and software
  • Ensuring the DevSecOps environment facilitates designing, implementing, deploying, and executing automated tests, and continually investigate new technologies to improve productivity, quality, ease of use and maintenance
  • Collecting, processing, and presenting information and metrics to show automation improvements or degradations over time
  • Driving platform improvements to increase and sustain availability of mission critical development tools
  • Performing many duties involving DevSecOps functions including, but not limited to, authoring and maintaining automation deployment and monitoring scripts, developing and maintaining security controls and systems, managing virtualized and containerized assets, creating virtual and physical network configurations, servers, communications, and test and developer engineering support
  • Executing the design, integration, testing and initial deployment of a variety of applications in an enterprise virtualized and containerized environment using modern tools and patterns
  • Authoring and maintaining scripts in a variety of languages
  • Authoring and maintaining documentation pertaining to DevSecOps processes and automation
  • Administering and utilizing the overarching configuration management tools and processes to ensure efficient and accurate tracking of baselines
  • Analyzing real world problems and implementing solutions that leverage industry best practices and improve the productivity of the overarching team

Requirements
  • Secret clearance required
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline such as computer science or information technology from an accredited college or university or relevant technical experience and technical certifications
  • Seven years of related professional work experience preferred
  • Experience implementing DevSecOps, DevOps, or IT or Security automation supporting multiple teams
  • Knowledge of and ability to implement DevSecOps platform using private and commercial cloud best practices
  • Strong experience with the Linux OS
  • Experience with private and hybrid cloud design/operation/monitoring/deployment
    • VMware vCenter and ESXi, generally maintained at the most current version
    • Practical knowledge of Kubernetes and general containerization development, security, deployment and management practices
    • Knowledge of ansible, terraform, and similar tools to automate deployment and destruction of virtual machines, networks, and other virtualized assets in VMware environments
  • Prioritizes multiple tasks, projects, and demands
  • Support documentation of DevSecOps and related technologies including the creation of system and process diagrams
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to own initiative execution from start to finish, adapting to evolving AIDETL curriculum needs and mission priorities.
  • Must have the ability to work from the AIDETL location on an as-needed basis, up to and including daily, with a willingness to travel as needed to meet mission objectives.
  • Effective interpersonal and communications skills
  • Professionally convey system-wide performance information routinely via tools such as PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, Jira, Confluence, etc.
  • Train others to perform similar DevSecOps and automation tasks. Support a corporate library of knowledge by maintaining and evangelizing content
  • Interact with developers to understand software changes that will impact development and testing activities, examine any relevant change implementation, then report to the changes to developers and testers welcoming feedback for future improvement
