Industrial Electrician|Yakima|HIRING IMMEDIATELY
Pay: $32 - $36. Compensation is based on experience, qualifications, and technical knowledge.
Shift Openings -
Hours of employment: Friday to Monday 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Hours of employment: Friday to Monday 2:00 PM to 12:00 AM
POSITION PURPOSE
The Industrial Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and upgrading electrical systems and equipment used in a manufacturing environment. This position supports production operations by ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and maintaining compliance with all safety, electrical, and company standards. The Industrial Electrician works closely with production, maintenance, engineering, and safety teams to improve OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), support continuous improvement initiatives, and improve plant efficiency.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

1. Follow all safety policies, procedures and practices.
   1. Must keep work area clean and safe.
   2. Understanding and daily practice of 5S.
   3. Ensure proper use of required personal protective equipment (PPE).
   4. Communicate with Operations and Maintenance personnel.
   5. Follow all OSHA, NFPA 70E, National Electrical Code (NEC), Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and company safety requirements.
   6. Ensure electrical work is performed safely and in compliance with applicable regulations.
   7. Participate in safety meetings, training programs, and incident investigations.
2. Follow all food safety and consumer safety policies, procedures, and practices.
   1. Participate in GMP and food safety training.
   2. Reports all food safety concerns with urgency.
3. Electrical Maintenance & Troubleshooting
   1. Troubleshoot and repair electrical, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automated production equipment.
   2. Diagnose equipment failures using electrical testing devices, schematics, and software diagnostics.
   3. Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, motors, motor controls, VFDs, PLCs, sensors, relays, transformers, and lighting systems.
   4. Perform preventive and predictive maintenance activities to maximize equipment uptime.
   5. Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and emergency maintenance situations.
4. Equipment Installation & Upgrades
   1. Install new production equipment and electrical systems.
   2. Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, ladder logic, and technical manuals.
   3. Assist in machine modifications, upgrades, and continuous improvement projects.
   4. Support commissioning and startup of new equipment.
5. Automation & Controls
   1. Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment and industrial automation systems.
   2. Assist with programming modifications under engineering or controls supervision.
   3. Maintain industrial communication networks and control systems when required.
6. Documentation & Communication
   1. Complete maintenance work orders accurately and in a timely manner.
   2. Document repairs, equipment history, and parts usage within CMMS or maintenance systems.
   3. Communicate equipment issues and repair status to supervisors and production personnel.
   4. Recommend improvements to increase reliability, efficiency, and safety.
7. Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Certification:

• HS diploma or GED required
• Technical degree, apprenticeship, or vocational training in Electrical Technology, Industrial Maintenance or related field required

Required experience:
- Minimum 3-5 years of industrial electrical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Experience troubleshooting electrical systems in high-speed manufacturing equipment
- Experience with PLCs, VFDs, motor controls, and industrial automation systems
- Journeyman Electrician License or equivalent certification preferred
- NFPA 70# Certification
- Arc Flash Training
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
- Experience using CMMS software
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems and control circuits.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints.
- Knowledge of NEC, OSHA regulations, and electrical safety standards.
- Proficiency with multimeters, megohmmeters, amp clamps, and other electrical diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Strong understanding of quality systems and manufacturing documentation.
- Mechanical aptitude and process understanding.
- Ongoing training and education are essential to continue to improve work processes.
A reasonable estimate of the current range is $32-$36 + site performance based bonus + benefits. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. At Novolex, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
