We are seeking Associate Scientist, Sample Preparation to join IQVIA Laboratories at Ithaca, NY.

Job Summary:
The Associate Scientist, Sample Preparation is responsible for routine sample preparation activities that support subsequent biological sample analysis. This role performs laboratory techniques, documents work in accordance with SOPs and regulatory guidelines, and supports quality, safety, and operational excellence in the lab.
What You'll Be Doing:
  • Execute routine sample preparation techniques to support subsequent biological sample analysis
  • Perform assigned laboratory techniques such as extractions from biological matrices, tissue preparation, or purification
  • Prepare solutions and reagents while troubleshooting routine experiments as needed
  • Document testing, observations, calculations, and project work in accordance with SOPs and applicable regulatory guidelines
  • Identify and escalate potential performance errors or unusual results to senior laboratory personnel
  • Maintain laboratory equipment, inventory awareness, and good housekeeping practices consistent with 6S standards
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders through clear, accurate, and timely communication
  • Support training, onboarding, continuing education, safety, quality, and 6S initiatives
What We Are Looking For:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a Life Sciences discipline required, or High School Diploma or equivalent with an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 6 months of experience in a regulated laboratory environment
  • Proficiency with pipetting techniques
  • Working knowledge of applicable regulatory standards within area of responsibility, such as Good Laboratory Practices, GLP
  • Knowledge of laboratory safety and infection control procedures and practices, including standard precautions and hazardous chemical handling
  • Experience working with automation or specialized laboratory equipment
  • Proficiency with routine and some non-routine laboratory calculations regarding batches and specimens
  • Other equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be accepted in lieu of degree
The Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Needed for This Role:
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy when performing, documenting, and reviewing laboratory work
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a regulated laboratory environment
  • Good computer skills using Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with internal stakeholders
  • Demonstrated understanding of functional area responsibilities, systems, and procedures

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $42,700.00 - $89,000.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
