The Position:
The Account Manager - Applications Engineer is a key member of the sales team, responsible for developing proposals and supporting the Sales Account Managers. Key directives include responding to requests for quotations in a timely and efficient manner, while delivering the Eclipse Vision and the Eclipse Entrepreneurial Culture.
What You'll be doing:
  • Participate in customer RFQ review meetings, either on-site at the customer or in-house
  • Prepare cell layout drawings for the various RFQ's
  • Liaise between mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and assembly manufacturing groups for technical assistance in developing concepts and processes and provide assistance in estimating labor and material costs to meet customer requirements
  • Liaise with suppliers to obtain estimates of major material and equipment costs required for the preparation of budgets and proposals
  • Prepare equipment layouts.
  • Participate in the elaboration of the list and schedule of technical deliverables for the complete project as well as the corresponding list of interfaces
  • Technical follow-up during engineering, procurement & construction
  • Identify technical risks and their impact on the project & mitigate their effects
  • Prepares specifications and estimates costs
  • Provide proactive customer design support for vertically integrated components and complex electro-mechanical assemblies
  • Work with internal and external design and technology functions to create unique specifications and applications
  • Work to specific project budgets and timelines provided by Applications Manager
  • Prepare draft budget and quotation proposals for review with the Applications Engineering Lead, the Sales Manager and Key Account Managers
  • Attend escalation and red flags as directed by Applications Manager

Leadership
  • Promote positive relations with internal customers, partners, customers, vendors, and distributors
  • Recommend and consistently administer policies and procedures to enhance department operations and support continuous improvement
  • Enforce and promote Eclipse policies throughout the entire company including Human Resources, personal development, Safety and Environmental
  • Recommend Eclipse Data Base improvements on an ongoing basis to increase efficiency throughout the company
  • Liaise between all departments as required to ensure on time delivery proposals, and internal procedures are executed in a timely manner

Project Execution
  • Notify the Applications Manager as early as possible if milestones cannot be met
  • Attend appropriate meetings when required
  • Ensure that Company ISO Standards are followed
  • Work with Human Resources and abide to Employment Standards Act and the Eclipse Employee Handbook
  • Promote environmentally and ergonomically safe conceptual product and/or processes to ensure safety of Eclipse personnel and the customer's employees
  • Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the Eclipse Automation Conduct Code
  • Adhere to the Eclipse Project Operating Policy
  • Maintain company confidentiality and ensure employees know accurate information as required
  • Maintain good corporate citizen role in support of the Eclipse corporate Vision
  • Foster the development of a culture reflective of the core values of the business
  • Represent the company at various community and/or business meetings to promote the company
  • Complete other duties and projects as assigned

Travel
  • Expectation of travel up to 30% of time could be anticipated, however may be exceeded in exceptional circumstances to meet project needs

What We're Looking For:
  • University Degree or College Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics or equivalent experience
  • Must have excellent experience with AutoCAD and Solid Works and be an expert in MS Office
  • Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics and electrical controls and integration of equipment
  • Experience and working knowledge of most CSA, ANSI and CE standards
  • Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to motivate teams to produce quality proposals within tight timeframes, with changing priorities
  • Conflict resolution skills are and asset
  • Must be self-motivated and lead by example with a positive attitude and outlook in the company
