Job Description

We are seeking a results-driven and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to lead our accounting team in delivering accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with accounting standards, and driving operational excellence. This role is ideal for a strategic thinker with strong leadership capabilities, a deep understanding of U.S. GAAP, and a passion for continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate will possess exceptional accounting, analytical, and communication skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities and mentor a high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of the accounting department, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, project accounting, and general ledger functions.
  • Lead and develop a team of accounting professionals through performance reviews, goal setting, and career development planning.
  • Provide training, mentorship, and leadership to foster a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
  • Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, including preparation and approval of journal entries.
  • Assist in the preparation and analysis of monthly financial statements; collaborate with business unit leaders to address inquiries and provide insights.
  • Review account reconciliations and support staff in resolving discrepancies.
  • Identify and implement process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency and data accuracy.
  • Support external audits, tax engagements, and system implementations as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, internal controls, and accounting policies.
  • Partner with Finance Business Partners to analyze budget and forecast variances.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience (public accounting or private industry)
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP
  • Demonstrated experience in team leadership and staff development
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to travel occasionally (less than 10%)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Accounting
  • CPA or CMA certification
  • Experience with construction accounting, including job costing and WIP reporting
  • Familiarity with accounting automation tools and process optimization
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 is a plus
