UNDERGROUND CONSTRUCTION DRIVER - CDL

JOB DESCRIPTION


Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Load and drive equipment and material to job locations safely by the time needed
  • Learn by shadowing and participating with all that is being asked within all aspects of the fire sprinkler trade
  • Assist foreman with installation, service, and trouble-shooting of automatic fire sprinkler systems along with all its related equipment
  • Assist foreman with installation of fire sprinkler systems in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings
  • Learn and use project drawings to accurately and entirely interpret and installation requirement details and layout as needed
  • Learn to thread and groove pipe, cut hanger rods, frequently climb ladders, hang pipe, read blueprints, layout, keep clean work area, and use appropriate equipment for any specific job such as tools, lifts, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Complete all Training Requirements โ€“ Safety, Certifications, etc.
  • Submit accurate Timesheet โ€“ job numbers/names, OT and travel pay, completed on time, etc., support transition to Electronic timesheet submittal
  • Ensure all required documents are complete, accurate and professional, with required signatures
  • Ensure proper Inventory Management โ€“ review, update, and approve packing slips โ€“ submitted timely, proper material management
  • Ensure proper Maintenance and care of equipment โ€“ trucks, lifts, tools, etc.
  • Keep jobsites clean and organized
  • Ensure Production Efficiency โ€“ awareness of budget vs. actual labor hours and proactive communication with superintendent
  • Support and Ensure Adherence to Company SOPs โ€“ Purchase Orders, Change Orders, etc.
  • Timeliness โ€“ at the job on time; attendance; communication with supervisor; paperwork
  • Ensure Customer Satisfaction and respond to Customer Satisfaction Survey feedback improvement opportunities
  • Maintain Quality Control i.e. reduce the need for return trips and warranty work
  • Maintain a Professional appearance
  • Communicate effectively and professionally within the department and with internal and external customers
  • Teamwork โ€“ maintain positive interactions within your team, local office, etc.
  • Actively Participate in required team meetings
  • Ability to work overtime, out of town or on-call as needed

Knowledge:

  • Basic Math and Reading
  • Minimum education of High School Diploma or Equivalent

Work Experience:

  • 1+ years of driving and hauling equipment and material to jobsites
  • 1 year of experience as a fire sprinkler, or construction related helper, preferred

Skills and Competencies:

  • CDL required
  • Ability to take direction from upper management
  • Must have valid state driver's license and good driving record
  • Self-motivated, Ambitious, Interactive, Communicative, Detail-oriented and Organized
  • Demonstrate ability to accurately read measurements from tape or scales
