Accountabilities

  • Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership.
  • Test-drive vehicles, test components and systems, use diagnostic tools and special service equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair vehicle systems; engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, AC conditioning, etc.
  • Communicate directly with Service Advisors to ensure customers are fully informed of all service is needed. Provide an estimate of time needed for additional repairs.
  • Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications.

Knowledge & Skills

  • 3+ years of Transmission Technician Experience
  • Must be Ford/Lincoln Certified
  • B level qualifications, including Diagnostic, Electrical and Engine Repair
  • Dexterity, requiring a steady hand, excellent hand-eye coordination
  • Mechanical and troubleshooting skills and ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
  • Excellent customer service skills and basic computer competencies
  • Positive, friendly attitude, along with an eagerness to improve
  • Enjoy working in a dynamic environment
  • Teammate with ability to collaborate with others effectively
  • Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and practices necessary while operating or repairing vehicles and equipment

Experience & Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • ASE certifications a must

Physical Requirements/Working Environment

  • Ability to stand, sit, walk, stoop, squat, crouch, kneel, push, and pull
  • Ability to lift and carry up to fifty (50) pounds and assist in lifting up to one hundred (100) pounds
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment testing to include background checks and drug test
