Overview:

Akiak Technology is hiring an Automated Testing Engineer to contribute to the development and delivery of secure, scalable software systems. This position designs, develops, and implements automated test scripts to ensure software quality and reliability. This role involves creating test cases, debugging, and integrating automated testing into the software development lifecycle to support a key federal client.


Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with software development teams to understand requirements, ensure tests cover all necessary aspects, and identify opportunities for automation
  • Design and develop test scripts to automate various test scenarios and conditions (e.g., using Cypress with JavaScript)
  • Integrate automated test scripts within the CI/CD pipeline
  • Identify, document, and track defects, working closely with developers to ensure resolution
  • Contribute to test planning, estimation, and continuous improvement efforts within an Agile team
  • Maintain and enhance test scripts to reflect changing requirements and ensure accuracy
  • Participate in code reviews, pull requests, and team quality practices
  • Perform manual testing across multiple lower environments as needed
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail


Requirements:

  • Experience with test automation using JavaScript-based frameworks (e.g., Cypress or similar)
  • Strong experience in TDD and BDD methodologies
  • Hands-on experience with testing tools such as Cucumber, JUnit, or similar
  • Strong experience with CI/CD platforms, such as Jenkins, GitLab, etc.
  • Proficiency with version control systems such as Git
  • Experience testing web-based applications
  • Knowledge of DHS governance and compliance requirements
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance
  • 5-7 years of experience
  • Bachelors degree strongly preferred


Teleworking: The company has a hybrid remote policy for all employees and is dependent upon the type of position.This position may be assigned to support a federal contract, or to work in office. The Companys teleworking eligibility may not apply if the employee is supporting a federal services contract. In this instance, the employee may be subject to federal telework policies and may be required to work onsite in the federal facility when requested.
