Key responsibilities

  • Support the operation of high-speed automated manufacturing lines, including inline winders and ovens.

  • Perform tasks such as taping unit roll preparation, measuring for accuracy, lifting and stacking rolls, and loading fiber per job specifications.

  • Monitor the production process for defects, document process changes, and communicate adjustments needed with the card line.

 WPT Nonwovens Corp has opened our third facility in Beaver Dam, KY! This recent expansion is a state of the art high speed automated manufacturing facility!

WPT is your one stop source for American made nonwoven fabric serving global markets such as medical, hygiene, and filtration products to name a few. We can also customize products from just an idea our customer has to commercial launch!

That’s a fancy way of saying it, so you are probably asking what type of products do we actually make? You see them everyday in products like diapers, air filters and wound dressings.

Forklift Operation

Blendline operator

  • Taping unit rolls, prepackaging, removal of mandrels, edge trim, and placement of roll stickers.
  • Measuring for accuracy for customer orders and taking pictures 
  • For the maintenance of accurate records of work performed each shift. (i.e. Master Roll Data Sheet, Waste Report, Trim percentage report).
  • Lifting and stacking rolls
  • Load fiber per job specification
  • Ability to make adjustment to blend line for optimal performance and minimal downtime
  • Knowledge of fiber types and recipe settings
  • Maintain bale labels for inventory tracking
  • Document process changes

Operate the inline winder

  • Cut cores and adjust accordingly 
  • Watch for defects in material and document
  • Assist in loading master rolls from inline winder to offline slitter
  • Communicate with card line on needed adjustments

Operate the oven

  • Understanding of loading recipes (both start up and production speeds)
  • Understanding of results of setting changes for improved quality
  • Cut cores and adjust accordingly 
  • Watch for defects in material and document
  • Assist in loading master rolls from inline winder to offline slitter
  • Communicate with card line on needed adjustments

  • Minimum age 18 years
  • One year forklift experience preferred
  • One year manufacturing/industrial experience or equivalent Military training or education preferred
  • Automation experience a plus
  • Basic computer knowledge, mechanical aptitude and good math skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to read, write and interpret and comprehend documents such as operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, schematics, technical documents and safety rules
  • Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral or diagram form.

  • Routinely Lifting, pushing, and pulling 30 lbs and over

  • Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms.
  • Work in an environment with moderate noise level, wet or high humidity conditions, excessive heat, extreme cold and vibration, exposure to airborne particles and moving parts.
