The Manufacturing Engineer leads process improvement and equipment-related projects, investigates and resolves technical issues, and implements sustainable solutions using engineering and Lean principles. Working cross-functionally with Operations, Quality, Maintenance, and other stakeholders, the Manufacturing Engineer helps ensure reliable, compliant, and efficient manufacturing processes that meet customer and business needs.
This position reports to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager and is part of the Value Stream Engineering team located in Logan, Utah, and is an on-site role.
What you will do:
  • Lead and participate in Kaizens and other continuous improvement initiatives to improve safety, reduce waste, increase equipment reliability, and enhance operational performance.
  • Provide day-to-day engineering support to a manufacturing value stream, proactively addressing issues impacting safety, quality, delivery, capacity, and cost while supporting production goals and operational priorities.
  • Plan and execute engineering projects including equipment upgrades, process improvements, engineering studies, new product introductions, and capital installations from concept through implementation and qualification (IQ/OQ).
  • Drive structured problem solving and root cause investigations utilizing Lean tools and data analysis methodologies, to resolve technical issues and implement effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
  • Partner with Operations, Quality, Maintenance, and EHS teams to improve manufacturing performance and ensure compliance with safety, cGMP, and company requirements.

Who you are:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 5+ years of engineering experience in an automated manufacturing, production, life sciences, medical device, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, automotive, or other regulated industrial environment.
  • Experience leading process improvement and problem-solving activities using Lean, Six Sigma, or equivalent continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Working knowledge of statistical analysis, process capability, and Design of Experiments (DOE) to support data-driven decision making and process optimization.
  • Experience supporting automated manufacturing equipment, process or product qualifications and working within regulated quality systems, including documentation, validation, and change control activities.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
  • Bottle filling
  • Robots
  • Packaging equipment
