Job Description:

L3Harris is seeking a Mechanical Designer to support RTS Systems in Yorba Linda, CA and will be part of a Mechanical Engineering team responsible for the development, integration, fielding, and operational support of flight test instrumentation systems used to track and collect data from missile flights.
The ideal candidate will have experience creating engineering drawings and design documentation to industry standards, will be familiar with mechanical and electro-mechanical assemblies, and will work effectively with engineers and cross-functional product development teams.

Essential Functions


ย  ย Create and maintain engineering drawings, specifications, and related design documentation.
ย  ย Prepare drawing packages and related documentation for design reviews.
ย  ย Use Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD to support mechanical and electro-mechanical design activities.
ย  ย Coordinate directly with engineering and product development teams to ensure documentation accuracy, quality, and completeness.
ย  ย Ensure design documentation complies with customer, military, and internal requirements.
ย  ย Support the development, integration, fielding, and operational support of flight test instrumentation systems.
ย  ย Maintain a professional, cooperative work environment with customers, coworkers, and management.


Required Qualifications


ย  ย  Bachelor's Degree and 4 years prior experience; OR 2 year post-secondary/AA Degree and 8 years prior experience; OR Graduate Degree with 2 years of prior related experience; OR 8 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.

ย  ย Active U.S. Secret Clearance required.
ย  ย Ability and willingness to travel up to about 10%.


Preferred Qualifications


ย  ย Experience with creating engineering drawings and design documentation.
ย  ย Experience with ASME Y14.100 and ASME Y14.5.
ย  ย Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
ย  ย Experience with Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD or similar CAD tools.
ย  ย Experience with Autodesk Vault or similar PDM software.
ย  ย Familiarity with mechanical and electro-mechanical assemblies.
ย  ย Strong written and verbal communication skills.
ย  ย Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California is $79,000.00 - $147,00.00. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
