Drafting Manager


We are looking for an experienced Drafting Manager to lead a team of designers and drafters in creating high‑quality engineering drawings and models using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD Mechanical. This role ensures accuracy, efficiency, and consistency in drafting standards while supporting engineering and manufacturing teams.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead drafting team: Supervise, train, and evaluate drafters/designers.
  • Maintain standards: Establish templates, libraries, and detailing practices.
  • Ensure accuracy: Review drawings, assemblies, BOMs, and documentation.
  • Manage workflow: Assign tasks, track progress, and deliver projects on time.
  • Collaborate: Work with engineering, manufacturing, and project management on design changes.
  • Improve processes: Identify automation opportunities and drive continuous improvement.


Requirements

  • Associate degree in Drafting, Design Technology, or Mechanical Design (Bachelor’s preferred).
  • 7+ years drafting/design experience in manufacturing.
  • 3+ years in a supervisory or lead role.
  • Advanced skills in Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD Mechanical.
  • Knowledge of GD&T, tolerances, and industry drafting standards.
  • Experience with PDM/PLM systems (Vault, Windchill, Teamcenter, SolidWorks PDM).
