At Jacobs, we're challenging today to reinvent tomorrow by solving the world's most critical problems for thriving cities, resilient environments, mission-critical outcomes, operational advancement, scientific discovery and cutting-edge manufacturing, turning abstract ideas into realities that transform the world for good.

Your impact

This job opportunity is available at ANY location in the United States. Ideally, selected candidates will be near a JACOBS U.S. based office, but we intend to hire the "best" candidates.

We are seeking a highly motivated 3D Geospatial & Civil Design Specialist to join our Digital Delivery team and support the delivery of advanced manufacturing, data center, and infrastructure projects. This role is focused on bridging geospatial intelligence, master planning, and Civil 3D project delivery by establishing the digital foundation required for successful project execution from due diligence through detailed design.

The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in Autodesk Civil 3D, geospatial data management, and modern Autodesk design technology, with the ability to develop, maintain, and manage civil project environments that support schematic design, design development, and construction documentation workflows.

This individual will collaborate closely with planners, engineers, surveyors, BIM/VDC professionals, and project teams to develop scalable workflows that leverage geospatial data to inform site selection, due diligence, master planning, and civil design decisions.

Key Responsibilities

Civil 3D Project Setup & Management

  • Establish and maintain Civil 3D project environments, templates, standards, and data structures for multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Configure and manage Civil 3D models, surfaces, alignments, corridors, grading, utility, and site development workflows.
  • Develop and maintain data-referenced Civil 3D environments that support collaboration across design disciplines.
  • Manage coordinate systems, survey information, and model integration between Civil 3D, Revit, Navisworks, and related Autodesk platforms.
  • Support project teams through schematic design, design development, and construction phases.

Geospatial & Master Planning

  • Develop and manage 3D geospatial models to support site evaluation, due diligence, and master planning initiatives.
  • Integrate GIS, survey, utility, environmental, zoning, transportation, and infrastructure datasets into project workflows.
  • Leverage platforms such as Autodesk Forma, ArcGIS, CityEngine, and other geospatial technologies to perform scenario planning and site analysis.
  • Create visualizations and analytical models that support client decision-making during early project phases.
  • Identify opportunities to automate data collection, validation, and reporting processes.

Digital Delivery & Innovation

  • Serve as a subject matter expert for geospatial and civil digital delivery workflows.
  • Support interoperability between GIS, BIM, and CAD environments.
  • Develop standards, best practices, and workflow documentation for project teams.
  • Evaluate emerging Autodesk and geospatial technologies and recommend solutions that improve project delivery efficiency.
  • Provide mentoring, training, and technical support to engineering and design teams.

Here’s what you’ll need

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geomatics, GIS, Geospatial Engineering, Surveying, Engineering Technology, or related field, or equivalent industry experience.
  • 10+ years of experience supporting civil design, geospatial modeling, or digital delivery initiatives.
  • Advanced proficiency with:
  • Autodesk Forma
  • Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC)
  • Revit
  • Navisworks
  • AutoCAD
  • Strong understanding of coordinate systems, survey data, georeferencing, and spatial data management.
  • Experience supporting site due diligence, feasibility studies, and master planning efforts.
  • Understanding of civil engineering workflows including grading, drainage, utilities, roadway, and site development design.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with multidisciplinary project teams.

Ideally, you'll have:

  • Experience supporting advanced manufacturing, mission critical/data center, industrial, or large campus developments.
  • Working knowledge of CityEngine and procedural modeling workflows.
  • Experience developing automation tools using Python, Dynamo, PowerShell, or Autodesk APIs.
  • Experience integrating GIS and BIM data environments.
  • Familiarity with drone, LiDAR, reality capture, and digital twin workflows.
  • Experience creating standardized Civil 3D templates, tool palettes, and project deployment frameworks.
  • Understanding of BIM execution planning and digital delivery strategy.

What Success Looks Like

  • Establish repeatable Civil 3D and geospatial workflows that improve project startup efficiency.
  • Enable informed site selection and due diligence through geospatial analytics and visualization.
  • Create scalable digital foundations that support seamless progression from master planning through detailed engineering.
  • Improve collaboration across planning, civil, GIS, BIM, and design disciplines.
  • Accelerate project delivery through automation, standardization, and innovation.
