We are seeking a driven Electrical Engineer to lead the design and development of electrical control circuits for high-voltage circuit breakers as well as the related mechanical drawings. This role plays a key part in delivering customer-specific solutions, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and continuously improving engineering and business processes. Job Description

Principales responsabilités:

  • Concevoir et personnaliser les circuits de commande électrique des disjoncteurs haute tension, y compris les schémas, les diagrammes de câblage et les nomenclatures, le choix des pièces, en veillant au respect des normes industrielles et des exigences clients.

  • Collaborer avec l'équipe commerciale pour évaluer la faisabilité technique, apporter une expertise technique et contribuer à l'élaboration des propositions.

  • Échanger directement avec les fournisseurs et les clients pour clarifier les exigences techniques, répondre à leurs questions et garantir l'adéquation des solutions techniques.

  • Travailler avec la R&D pour développer et optimiser la conception et l'amélioration des produits afin de répondre aux besoins des clients et aux exigences émergentes du marché.

  • Apporter un soutien à la production en résolvant les problèmes techniques, en répondant aux questions relatives à la conception et en assurant une transition fluide entre l'ingénierie et la fabrication.

  • Maintenir et améliorer les bases de données afin d'en garantir l'exactitude, la standardisation et la facilité d'utilisation dans les flux de travail d'ingénierie.

  • Assurer la configuration et le paramétrage des pièces dans SAP (BOM, feuilles de route, etc.).

  • Support fonctionnel aux équipes d’assemblage.

  • Être un référent sur les équipements de mesure et d’assemblage liés à la production.

  • Disponible à voyager jusqu'à 15% du temps (passeport - et Visa pour USA - valides requis).

Qualifications requises:

  • Bilinguisme français/anglais fluide requis. L'employé(e) sera amené(e) à interagir de manière fluide avec des collègues de nos autres installations à travers et/ou à l'extérieur du Canada, et qui sont généralement incapables de communiquer en français et dont la langue de travail est principalement l'anglais.

  • Diplôme en génie électrique ou domaine connexe d'une université reconnue.

  • Minimum 7 ans d'expérience en tant qu'ingénieur électricien en milieu industriel.

  • Expérience en dessin mécanique sur Autocad.

  • Leadership, sens de l’initiative et capacité d’influence.

  • Esprit analytique, rigueur et résilience face aux défis techniques.

  • Capacité à gérer les priorités et à évoluer dans un environnement dynamique.

  • Compétences en interprétation, lecture, analyse de dessins et spécifications techniques.

  • Compréhension des chaînes d’approvisionnement, des cycles de fabrication et des processus industriels.

  • Être membre de L'Ordre de Ingénieurs du Québec

Key responsabilities

  • Design and customize electrical control circuits for high-voltage circuit breakers, including schematics, wiring diagrams, bills of materials, and component selection, while ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.

  • Collaborate with the sales team to assess technical feasibility, provide technical expertise, and contribute to the development of proposals.

  • Communicate directly with suppliers and customers to clarify technical requirements, answer their questions, and ensure the suitability of the technical solutions.

  • Work with R&D to develop and optimize product design and improvements in order to meet customer needs and emerging market requirements.

  • Provide production support by resolving technical issues, answering design-related questions, and ensuring a smooth transition between engineering and manufacturing.

  • Maintain and improve databases to ensure accuracy, standardization, and ease of use within engineering workflows.

  • Ensure the configuration and setup of parts in SAP

  • Validate drawings

  • Be available to travel up to 15% of the time (valid passport — and valid U.S. visa, if required — needed).

Required Skills

  • Fluent bilingualism in French and English is mandatory. The employee will be required to interact fluidly with colleagues in our other facilities across and/or outside of Canada, and who are generally unable to communicate in French and whose language at work is predominantly English.

  • Degree in electrical engineering or a related field from a recognized university.

    ​ Minimum of 7 years of experience as an electrical engineer in an industrial environment.

  • Experience in mechanical drafting using AutoCAD.

  • Leadership, initiative, and influencing skills is essential.

  • Analytical mindset, attention to detail, and resilience in the face of technical challenges.

  • Ability to manage priorities and thrive in a dynamic environment.

  • Skills in interpreting, reading, and analyzing technical drawings and specifications.

  • Understanding of supply chains, manufacturing cycles, and industrial processes.

  • Must be a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec.

Required Skills:

  • Prior experience collaborating with clients on custom-designed products.

  • Ability to analyze and understand client specifications.

  • Ability to collaborate with production teams to resolve technical issues.

  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred).
